Welcome to Friday Treats!
This is a collection of some cultural highlights that I’ve been enjoying this week, including book recommendations, podcasts, articles, Substack shares, and other observations.
And please share your own treats too 🎁
📖 I am a couple of decades away from 60, but I love love love this column in The Guardian: A new start after 60. It provides some welcome insights and fascinating stories from people from a range of backgrounds who embrace ageing and change!
📖 I also love sleep, and learning about it. This article from Psyche discusses how to recognise your chronotype (linked to circadian rhythms). Here I was thinking that I was a lark, but it turns out that I am more of a bear 🐻
📖 So many fantastic reads on Substack again this week. After watching
‘s workshop on The London Writer’s Salon a couple of weeks ago, I have been thinking more about ‘branding’ and ‘marketing’, two things that have often left me feeling a bit weird, but they are two things that I am trying to become more comfortable with. And as Werner also highlights, “Your personal brand is a dynamic process”. Perhaps this is why I can’t stop tinkering with my About page?🧵And I started a new embroidery kit, which is helping to get me in the Christmassy mood! There’s some way to go until it’s finished… 🎄
Have a lovely weekend,
Sarah xx
