I will never be able to do Japan justice through my photos, so these are a bit meh. But here are some snaps from a holiday that I took with my husband in October. We spent a week travelling between: Osaka, Kyoto, and Hiroshima. It was very warm during the trip, so no pictures of the leaves changing, unfortunately.
Moody sky over Osaka Castle. Far more impressive from the outside than inside, but I am tempted to purchase a Playstation just so that I can play Assassin’s Creed Shadows that is set in 16-century Japan.
An early start in a bid to beat the crowds to Kiyomizu-dera Temple in Kyoto. Turns out that everyone else had the same idea.
A different view of Kiyomizu-dera Temple. This area must be even more striking when the leaves change.
Taking a photo of people taking photos. I am endlessly fascinated (and irrationally irritated) by the etiquette with mobile phones and photography despite using my phone to take this image.
More of these posters everywhere please!
7/11 heaven.
Lanterns in Osaka. Which face are you feeling like today? (I'm the one in the middle).
Look closer. Scary Joker hole in Osaka.
A view towards the Atomic Bomb Dome from the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.
A view of the dome from across the river. There is far more to Hiroshima than the events of WW2. It’s a very pretty place.
Probably my favourite place in Kyoto on the trip: Kōdaiji Temple
On the hunt for neon at nighttime. Entrance to Dotonbori in Osaka
Choo choo! A bullet-train (or Shinkansen). We took this one to Hiroshima from Osaka.
Love it! One of my dream destinations ~ although, I heard Japan is really popular these days. Not sure how I'd do in the crowds. How was it for you two?
Such cool shots, Sarah! I’ve always wanted to visit Japan.
