Hi and welcome!
If you made it through my ‘About Page’, you will already know a little about me, and this post is just to extend my warmest thanks and appreciation for stopping by.
The blackboard in the image feels apt for this post as it reminds me of my early career in teaching, where I would often find chalk all over my clothes and sometimes in my hair by the end of the school day. Chalk was terrible for my nails… but much more environmentally friendly than whiteboard pens!
Anyway, fast forward 16 years and I am now out of the classroom (at least for now) and am pursing a career in personal training/coaching and writing.
The Best of Intentions (or when I am lazy - TBOI) is a place for some of this writing. Here, I hope to share some of my creative work with you that will include the following topics:
Psychology
Career change
Travel
Photography
And hopefully there will be much more to come!
That’s all for now, but that is just for starters. I hope that you can join me 😊
But if you would like to know a bit more…
🇬🇧 I was born in the UK but have been incredibly fortunate to have been able to live and work in a number of different countries due to my previous career/past life as a teacher of psychology (and there was some sociology in there too).
🧠 I find learning about other people, their backgrounds and how they experience the world fascinating - probably why I was originally drawn to studying and teaching psychology in the first place.
🏋🏻♂️ Have I mentioned psychology already? I see myself as a lifelong learner and completed a MSc Psychology last year, where my dissertation focused on how resistance training is a force for good in helping to develop a positive body image for women (not the official title, but it was along those lines).
✍🏼 I have been writing fiction on and off for years, and submitted a couple of short stories to competitions - nothing more to write home about here, but just entering these boosted my confidence with getting ideas down on the page.
📷 Another hobby of mine is photography. My plans are to share more of my own work with you here.
Nice to meet you, and great name ;) Looking forward to reading more of your work!
Nice to meet you, Sarah. I see we have a lot in common (teaching, traveling, interest in people), and look forward to reading your newsletter.
