Disposable cameras! Gosh, what a throwback. My 14-yr old son recently started asking about disposable cameras, unprompted. I asked why he wanted one, since he can take however many photos on his phone. His response was that they just seem "cool." I agree, and as you said, they are a good reminder that less is often more.

Use to work at a camera print shop for 5 years. It was always fun to see who would come in, what would they want to print, and what other things would they see discover and buy.

That sounds like fun!

I’m not sure what the place you worked at was like, but the one near me is always busy, especially at weekends - while people can send off photos online to be printed, its great to see that many people still want to go to a shop themselves.

Refreshingly retro. I remember those 110mm cameras and their grainy pix. Fun to see them still available somewhere.

Thanks Paul, I was surprised by seeing one too. I did realise that even with a lot of light around you, the flash was still essential, but I think this added to the retro look!

What fun to do such things Sarah! What was the disposable camera? Just curious.

Hi Shital, I wish that I had taken a picture of the camera or made a note! But I think it was a Fujifilm simple ace. Very basic, but lots of fun to play with

There must be something countercultural about film cameras 😂🤔 compared to using your phone where you can take as many photos as you like.

I remember that I taught a girl a few years ago who refused a phone from her parents when they offered to get her one (I was her tutor, so I knew her fairly well). She said that she didn’t want to be like everyone else. She also rocked pink hair ☺️
