Thank you for the mention, Sarah! Interesting to see that the places of your reading outside Substack are similar to mine: The Conversation, Guardian, New Yorker. I'm really glad to have come across the Conversation. It gives a sane perspective on things, doesn't it?

I agree, The Conversation is a great publication with a range of stories from around the world. I care about what is happening in the UK and the USA (primarily because my husband and his family are from there), but other happenings around the world get lost in the noise.

Have you come across Aeon too? https://aeon.co/

Thanks for the tip! I didn't know Aeon. It looks good (interesting article there by Phillip Ball). I've signed up.

Thanks so much for the mention Sarah! Nice to see an older post of mine. Will check out the other writers that you have mentioned. Some are familiar while others are new for me.

I have been steadily going through archives of people's newsletters that I am subscribed to, and I was genuinely spoilt for choice with yours!

Sarah, I'm unfamiliar with Shitar's work, so I'm glad you introduced it to me. Hope you're well this week? Cheers, Thalia

Shital’s writing and photography are wonderful! And thank you, yes I’m good. Busy week with some work but can slow down for the weekend. How about you?

Thanks, Sarah. It's nice to be included. 🩷I read the article from The Conversation, as I hadn't been there in a while and it is also about a subject I was starting to write about. We need authentic journalists, caretakers, and teachers more than ever! xo
