Oooo. I love seeing your photography, little everyday glimpses of life. And WOODWORKING ❤️ I did it for one term during my Waldorf teacher training and I took to it like an otter to the ocean. Drooling with envy, xo

Oh wonderful - what kind of things do you make in your training? My next project is a bowl

Our big project was a big wooden spoon. My handle wasn’t straight like everyone else’s so I went with it and created a wavy handle. xo

That sounds great - and part of the joy of craftwork is we don't always know how things are going to turn out.

I still love the neon! And all the other moments you captured…just beautiful.

The photo of the ferry instantly conjured the pungent, briny smell of a harbor on a warm day, and I swear I felt the sway of the boat as passengers boarded. I don’t know if this was an actual memory of visiting Hong Kong when I was very young, or it was my mind embellishing the image.

The wooden vase is stunning, Sarah!

Thanks Maria, I am determined to find something to go in my vase this weekend as it has been sat on my cabinet all alone since I finished varnishing it. I did manage to get a test tube too, so I can put all types of flowers in it and not just dried ones.

And I think that I can conjure the same briny smell too each time I look at the Star Ferries!

That wood vase is beautiful. I think you have a talent for wood turning. I agree with your tree assessment. Definitely a rebel tree, doing it's own thing. 🤣

Thanks so much for the mention Sarah 😊

I love your wooden vase! I’d love to do something like that and you’ve given me an idea for a birthday present for my dad. He loves anything wood-related so I might see if I can find a workshop or similar we could attend together.

The tree too is amazing and I’ve never seen roots grow quite like that. You make a visit to Hong Kong very appealing!

The wood turning (I think that is what we did!) was really interesting. I was completely engrossed in the process, although I still haven’t put anything in the vase some weeks later. I want to try and get hold of some lavender as I think it will go well with the blonde wood and it will smell nice too.

If your dad is crafty too as you are, I think you’ll both enjoy it.
