I love a 50mm lens! I should share some photography on my Substack as well. Thanks for the inspiration!

I am loving my 50mm - still trying to work some things out, but it's so much easier and fun to play with than my other lens. And yes, please share some of your photography here :)

I think the trickiest part is that you have no options to zoom! But it also helps you get creative with how you position yourself to take the best shot. I took many of these with a 50mm lens… https://alexisdamen.com/lifestyle-portrait-photography

I haven’t been taking photos lately, but I’m about to jump up and turn on my camera. Haha.

Wow! Just looking at your website. All of the images that you've captured look so 'real' - that sounds so basic, but from the smiles to the positioning, everything. The models all look like they were having fun!

Thanks! I get what you mean. I think I prefer capturing realness over a super polished look. Never really thought about it but now I realize after reading your comment. 🤗

I haven't been to Singapore. I think it's on the list. It looks so clean and well-preserved. Love that green building. xo

Living in HK, I often hear some interesting comments about Singapore, like there’s not much to do there. Although I found plenty to do during my week there, I guess living somewhere is very different to being a tourist somewhere!

I was in a similar place in the early 2000s with an amazing 18-200mm VR lens that was massively versatile. But after a while, I went for a 50mm and it was a TREAT! Having the two to choose from covers just about everything.

I did want to posh macro lens too, but never did stump up the cash for one of those!

That’s wonderful to hear, Martin. I’m having a lot more fun with the 50mm and it is just a lot of practical than lugging around something bigger. I’m not very good with carrying ‘stuff’.

So I did read somewhere that a 50 can be good for macro work too, but I’m yet to try and set that up.

Fantastic shots, Sarah! They made me miss Singapore! They've also inspired me to dust off my nifty fifty, so thanks for the inspiration 😊
